MEDICAL OPINION COMPLIMENT SLIP

MEDICAL OPINION COMPLIMENT SLIP LETTER FROM HEATH HOUSE HOSPITAL dated June 1999

INDEX The problems before the flood January to June 1998 The telephone call life in hospital The problems AFTER My Retirement    My current medical debacle

I reopened in January 1998 to an almost defunct practice and daily divided my time, in between patients, either ringing the Insurance company to get more interim payments or ringing the bank to explain and keep them sweet.

I received the 1st reasonable payment from the Dental Practice Board in May 1998.

My Bank manager was ok but as HIS superior wasn’t so I now had to keep contact almost daily. I told Dr A of the added pressure.

My acrimonious divorce was at last coming to an end but little did I know that the real horror of the CSA would soon start...

I was harassed by the Child Support Agency 2-3 times a week by telephone calls to the house and to the practice and once a week by letter despite the fact

I had a standing order paying the wife £500 each month.

My overdraft increased.

I had to borrow money for new equipment, from the bank, just to be able to reopen in January 1998 in lieu of the settlement for the Insurance Claim.

I also had arranged for all my regular correspondence to be sent to the practice, rather than to my home address at the start of my stressful period so that I could deal with any problem "with company" (my staff) rather than alone at home. ALL standing orders and direct debits were taken from my practice account. I had a small account set up for my everyday living but the vast majority of income stayed in my Practice account. At the end of every month I placed a bit in my personal account.

I was in contact with my accountant in order for him to be in full knowledge of the problems I was having as he knew with my bank manager AND the insurance representative.

I rang the Bank almost every day.

I rang the Insurance Company every day to ask about the claim settlement and stressed the urgency.

I was NEVER suicidal BUT I certainly did not want to be in this situation and I know I said many times, pre 1998 that I wished I was not here and could turn right from the practice and go somewhere. I parked in the same position everyday and had to turn left to go home.

Then came the The telephone call

( HOWEVER 10 years later.)
